Air abrasion is an extremely conservative restorative procedure, it works similar to a very precise sand blaster using small micro-particles of aluminum oxide under compressed air to remove decay.

Can it be used on all teeth?

Air abrasion is excellent for small areas of decay in the grooves of teeth and also used prior to dental sealants. Air abrasion cannot remove old filling material and is not indicated for moderate to large areas of decay.
