We work closely with a select group of specialists for these procedures - proper planning is imperative for an optimal result. The implant is placed with the surgeon - no stress is immediately placed on the implant to allow it to integrate with bone. Generally a temporary removable appliance is fabricated to be worn while the implant is integrating so the patient is not without a tooth for the duration of the process. The implant takes about 3 months to integrate and at this time, the final restoration can be completed which consists of an Abutment which screws into the implant and the final crown which is cemented on the abutment. Implants restorations look and feel similar to natural teeth and will never develop decay!
